Club chairman Toby Macormac featured in The Telegraph and local radio last week, discussing the impact of the lockdown on Warrington Town.

Wire FM also interviewed Macormac, asking how the lockdown was affecting the club.

He said: “Really badly. No game since mid-March, we had four home games left, including South Shields which would arguably been our biggest crowd of the season.

“The social club next door to the ground in lockdown, we’ve also got a small astroturf that we hire out that isn’t being used. Couple of things compounding the whole thing to make it one sorry mess.

“We’re doing our best to give the town something it needs which is a football club at the highest level. We’re trying to get up through the pyramid, we made the play-offs again this year after winning our play-offs last year.

“We were in a good position and this has happened, and it’s had a big impact, and so we’re hoping the crowdfunding initially will help get us through to technically what would be the end of the season.
