Buckley-Ricketts confirms exit

Isaac Buckley-Ricketts has left Warrington Town following the expiry of his contract and joined Curzon Ashton.

Buckley-Ricketts, 26, will always be remembered for scoring one of the most important and famous goals in the club’s history, the play-off final winner against Bamber Bridge in May 2023 that secured promotion to the National League North.

The former Manchester City junior joined the Yellows from Southport in 2022, initially on loan, making his debut in the 3-1 win over Morpeth Town in February 2022 and was part of the team that reached the Northern Premier League play-off final that season.

He made the move permanent in the summer and went on to score nine goals in 40 appearances in the 2022/23, including that 90th minute winner against Bamber Bridge.

After promotion, Buckley-Ricketts found his feet at the new level and finished as the club’s top goalscorer, scoring 15 goals, including a hat-trick in the 6-0 win at Buxton, and earning selection in the National League North team of the season.

A new deal to extend his stay at Cantilever Park had been sanctioned in February, but unfortunately ongoing discussions with the management team over the following months didn’t result in a contract being agreed, and the player has now committed his future elsewhere.

Buckley-Ricketts leaves the club having scored 25 goals in 99 appearances, and everyone at the Yellows thanks him for his contributions and wishes him well for the future.
