Bobby Jones has said that he wants to help Warrington Town achieve their goals of a play-off spot and promotion while on loan at the club.
The young goalkeeper joined the Yellows on loan from Wigan Athletic, where he features for the Championship side’s under 18s team.
The Republic of Ireland under 19 international made his debut against Scarborough Athletic at Cantilever Park in place of injured Tony McMillan, and stole the limelight with a solid display at the back, keeping a clean sheet which helped the Yellows claim a 2-0 victory.
Influential striker Josh Amis opened the scoring, while Jack Mackreth scored his fifth goal of the season with virtually the last kick of the game.
“I’m made up with my debut and to get the three points and a clean sheet,” said Jones.
“I thought everyone involved was quality on the day.
“My first appearance at Cantilever Park was one to remember, all the fans were amazing the support was top class. I loved every minute of it.”

His performance earned praise from both Paul Carden and Scarborough manager Darren Kelly, and he was set for his full second appearance away to Buxton, before the game was abandoned due to heavy snowfall.
The Yellows travel to in-form FC United of Manchester this weekend in the BetVictor Northern Premier Division, with a play-off position just inches away.
“During my time with Warrington, I hope I can contribute to helping the team finish in the play-offs and hopefully get promoted as that is the goal,” said Jones.
“I am also hoping to play as much football as I can this year, there’s nothing I enjoy more and plenty of football and game time is vital for me at this moment in time.
“I definitely think the play-offs is achievable. I think if we continue to play like we did against Scarborough then we have a great chance.
“So far Paul and the rest of the lads have been great with me, very encouraging and very supporting too. I’m really enjoying working with them. They are all great guys.”
