Warrington Town are back on their travels this Saturday as they make the trip to Scunthorpe United in the National League North.

After picking up four points in as many home games recently, the Yellows will be aiming to cause an upset as they visit Lincolnshire this weekend.

It’s shaping up to be the toughest test yet for Mark Beesley’s side, with the Irons boasting an almost perfect start to their campaign after picking up six wins from seven games, drawing one and conceding just a singular goal, making them one of the early promotion favourites.

There were no fresh injury concerns for Mark Beesley following Tuesday night’s draw against Leamington.

Manager Mark Beesley has told his side to relish the experience as they prepare to take to the stage against Scunthorpe United this weekend.

While admitting it’s been far from an ideal start for Town, Beesley is hoping to utilise their underdog status as a rallying call to produce a better performance.

“I don’t think it’s a free hit, but they will obviously be overwhelming favourites,” Beesley said.

“They’re the biggest club in this league by far – they’re top of the league, scoring goals and not conceding many.

“They’re full-time footballers so they will be expected to beat us. They will get the chance to rest while our lads are in work.

“We’ve got to go there and embrace it – in this league, you’re going to face big clubs. It’s a good opportunity for us to go there and showcase what we have on a big stage.”

“We’ve got a couple who should be back for Saturday, if not they will definitely be back the week after. That’s good news as it gives us some extra options.”
