Club Statement: Mark Beesley

Warrington Town can confirm it has accepted the resignation of Mark Beesley from his role as manager.

Following discussions last night and this morning, his eight-year run as part of the club’s management team has come to an end.

A former Yellows player, who made five appearances in the 2012/13 season, Beesley arrived back at the club as assistant manager to Paul Carden in 2016, before taking over as manager when Carden departed to Telford United in November 2021.

Beesley took charge of 139 games, winning 59 of them, overseeing 212 goals, including five in his first league game in charge against Lancaster.

At the end of his first season, the Yellows finished 5th in the table and were beaten in the play-off final by Scarborough, after a memorable semi-final win away at South Shields.

He will always be remembered as the manager that led the club to the National League North, via winning the Northern Premier League play-off final against Bamber Bridge in 2023, and for a solid first season at step two, finishing 12th in the table.

During his tenure, the club has grown with average attendances climbing from 547 in his first season to almost 1,200 last term.
