Blackpool winger makes Yellows loan move

Warrington Town have signed exciting young winger Josh Miles on a three-month loan from Football League side Blackpool.

The 17-year-old moved to Blackpool last summer for an undisclosed fee from Southport, where he made 15 appearances in the National League North at the age of just 16.

Formerly with the Steven Gerrard Academy, Miles signed a three-year deal at Blackpool and moves to the Yellows to gain further first-team experience.

Yellows manager Mark Beesley said: “I’m delighted to have signed Josh. When we found out that he was available, we acted quickly.

“He gives us options out wide and can play in a few positions. He provides the pace and directness which we’re aiming for, and hopefully he can improve his game, as well as our squad.

“I’d like to thank Blackpool for trusting us with his development, because I’m sure he’s on a pathway to playing in their first team.”

In the early part of the season, Miles will help to fill the void left by Matt Grivosti, who will miss the first three games through suspension following his red card against Hereford.

He is in the squad to feature in tonight’s pre-season friendly against Ashton United, and could make his home bow at the Cal.Delivery Stadium in Tuesday’s final home pre-season test against Oldham Athletic.
